Misal Pav (Warning: Very Spicy)

The Kolhapuri way. It's sprouts curry topped with farsan (crunchy mix). The 'tarri' (oil layer) on top is essential.

Instructions

Cook sprouts with turmeric and salt.

Make the 'Kat' (Spicy Gravy): Fry onion, coconut, ginger, garlic paste.

Add red chilli powder and Misal masala. Cook until oil separates generously.

Add water (make it watery) and boil vigorously.

Add cooked sprouts to the gravy.

To assemble: Put sprouts in a bowl, pour lots of spicy gravy.

Top with farsan and chopped onions. Serve with pav.
